Well, actually, no. He didn’t say whether or not he endorsed the views of Ted Cruz. He simply indicated he was curious.

I respect your Dad for being curious and keeping himself informed. I respect you as a son for having your Dad’s back.

But it’s not valid for you to dismiss everyone as The Dumb who didn’t interpret his ambiguous remarks in the way that you say should have been “pretty clear.”
