2014: The Year of the Ticket

a poem, by Ticketleap

We want to take back

the meaning of the word ticket.

It used to be that Mr. Lennon sung

about tickets to ride

and Mr. Wonka passed out

golden varieties in candy bars.

Now a ticket is something filed

if your software doesn’t work

or something you get

when going too fast down the highway

or at best

a necessary barrier of entry

to an otherwise great event.

It’s time for the ticket

to be less about keeping you out

and more about inviting you in.
