Fantastic glossary, Rachel. Really valuable work. I like how it updates your 2013 article in Wired on the different meanings of the sharing economy http://www.collaborativeconsumption.com/2013/11/22/the-sharing-economy-lacks-a-shared-definition/

I’m curious what you mean by a ‘true’ gift in the entry on gift economics. I think the role of gifting in the sharing economy is vastly understated. But my perspective is informed by the gift economies of PNG and Pacific nations. The Potlatch, Kula, and Moka are ‘reputation games’. In these economies, there is no such thing as a ‘true’ gift. We gift to place another in debt. Gifting and owing brings communities together, so it’s not necessarily a bad thing.
