#RadiatingReal #22 — Thoughts from inside an MRI machine. 💓
💓 Slept straight through the night. First time in days.
Still have stabbing headache and loud ringing in my ears, BUT …
💓Grateful to have finally slept — soundly.
💓 And to have this MRI test done.
💓 Wait wasn’t long.
Got into a hospital gown — can’t figure out getting tied into that thing. 🤣
Did my best.
Got into the MRI machine.
Nurse asked what music I wanted from Spotify.
Billy Joel.
He’s my fave.
I lie down on the machine.
Nurse was really nice.
I enter the tunnel.
The noises start.
RRRRRRRRRRR.
BEEEEEEEEEEEEP.
Vibrating sounds.
So freakin’ loud!!!
Hello — I have a headache people.
Loud sounds make it worse.
BUT … worth it — to find out if there’s something wrong.
Grateful we have this technology.
Did MRI with/without contrast.
Took 45 min.
Relieved to take gown off, get into comfy hoodie & jeans.
Been a really tough 1 to 2 weeks:
❇️ After a frustrating day trying to get to the bottom of chronic headaches & ringing in my ears going on for more than a week with the help of Nancy Barrows M.S. CCC-SLP who was by my side all day virtually & the support of many of you!
❇️ After having a virtual doctor appointment, which led to recommendations that didn’t work …
❇️ After not being able to get an in doc appointment until this Saturday …
❇️ Going to an urgent care center that had no answers …
❇️ And an emergency room that took my blood, gave me a CT Scan, which came back negative — #gratitude — an IV with Percocet to relieve my stabbing headache, which it didn’t.
❇️ Which left me discharged in pain …
Been in pain for a couple weeks, and it’s not been easy.
💓 Grateful for having seen a knowledgeable neurologist at Geisinger in Scranton, Pa., that has me on a path to health.
💓 Looking forward to in person primary care doctor appointment tomorrow.
💓 Gratitude for my fam!
💓 Gratitude for the love and support of all of my families, #RadiatingReal fam, #linkedinfam, #facebookfam and all the fams that have kept me going through all of this. I love you!
