ZOIN ROADMAP 1.0

“Whoever robbed your place wasn’t looking for cash or jewelry”

Herbert George Wells

Hello Dear Zoiners

With this article, I open a series of monthly reports on the work done by the Zoin team. The first article will cover a fairly large period of 3 months from December last year, and ending in March. In the future, the articles will contain information about one month of work.

So, let’s begin! The first months of winter brought us many achievements. The community became stronger and more than 1000 people were in our community on December 1, 2017, now in the last three months we have reached more than 7500! This very significant growth, and the Zoin team is doing everything possible to make Zoin more and more accesible.

In the second half of December 2017, the team added four community moderators — just active guys from the Zoin community, their duties included not only moderating the forums and to assist on various issues, but also gave Zoin a serious push upward in all the main social platforms (Bitcointalk, Reddit, Twitter, etc.). At that moment, very few people knew about the Zoin, but the mods helped their team to make Zoin more popular. The moderators wrote a large number of articles, manuals and instructions on common topics and kept answering any questions from all community members. During these two and a half months these mods did a great job, and the team helped them with their advice and support at difficult times!

Adding moderators, freed the main team members and allowed them to make a qualitative breakthrough in all areas of development. First of all, it should be noted that the growing number of community members, revealed the difficulties with scaling the main site for communication Slack, the further increase would lead to large and unjustified spending. Slack severely limited the number of messages, and there was a fee for extension. Therefore, the team made a very correct and timely decision to move the main server platform from the Slack to Discord.

In the middle of December, our head developer @Jackieboy released an update for the main Zoin wallets, it fixed sync problems and user interface issues. After a small fix, Matt judging by updates to the github, had sleepless nights working on a very important update to core 0.13. This update provided opportunities for further improvements (made possible to launch web wallets, a web TOR wallet, masternodes, an encrypted chat and a vote through the Core wallet), here is a list of what has been improved:

BTC Core 0.13 implementation

Fulltime Zerocoin Protocol V2

Pruned nodes

Multiple BIP implementations

Atomic Swap compability

TOR stream isolation

Fixed recurring sync issues, faster sync from scratch

And many others.

The core update was released on January 15, 2018. Support for Atomic Swaps, BIP 141, Segwit, Masternodes, encrypted chat and a vote through the Core wallet, and other improvements. Technically, this update had put Zoin in one line with top crypto projects. After that, there was an opportunity to work on other platforms for Zoin wallets.

Work in different directions was started:

  1. Zoin is a currency controlled by the community, all the important decisions are made by the community and before the voting, a discord channel was opened for debating the necessary number of coins for Zoinodes = masternodes. A few weeks later there was a vote, in which it was decided to limit to 25k the number of Zoin needed for running a node. At that moment, Zoinodes were successfully tested in testnet.
  2. Devs began to work on the Zoin Web Wallets- the first web wallet with full support Zerocoin protocol! Web wallet started on February 27th and it worked very smoothly- thanks to all Zoin team for it!
  3. Work on mobile wallets for Android and IOS has been continuous since last year and they are almost fully developed. Mobile wallets are planned to be released in a few weeks after the Zoinodes.

January 8: the team released an entirely new official website excellent graphics, all information about the project, which includes a blog with manuals and guides, as well as a module showing at what stage the development on the main stages of the project development - bravo @blocktaz! (our main designer Julien)

January 26: there was published on the official blog a list of bounties for specific work needed. For example: translating the site into different languages, youtube videos, articles, etc. At the same time, our systems engineer @Pnus launched the official Zoin block explorer.

January 29: Zoin get listed on decentralized exchange BarterDEX with Atomic Swap support. Then later on, Zoin get listed on another DEX; Cryptobridge! Also, the team gets confirmation about a confirmed listing in the BlockNet.

@Jackieboy meanwhile released a new version of the core wallet 0.13.0.2 with GUI fixes and adding Zoin paper wallet.

By mid-February, an exclusive interview with the famous French cryptoblogger Pierre Bann was published! It was about the history of the Zoin, and the objectives of the Zoin team. I strongly advise you to read it to everyone, the link to the interview it is posted at the end of this article.

Closer to the end of February, the team, significantly strengthened by the new members the community manager Torrmara and project manager Julien, released the first ever crypto currency web wallet with Zerocoin protocol support. A week later, the TOR version of this wallet came out! All the team members and moderators took part in the testing, and the launch was successful.

It is impossible not to mention the announcement of the union with the professional marketing team Tribu from Texas, after which the advertising campaign started on Twitter and Reddit in its first phase.

We are almost at the end of the roadmap announced back in September last year. It took only six months, and during this time a very large contribution was made to the development of Zoin. Now we are on the verge of activating Zoinodes! After that, developers will launch mobile wallets and present a brand new and incredible roadmap2.0!

In my opinion, if you analyze all the actions of the team with their consistency during the past six months, you can confidently say that Zoin has a good future! At the end of this roadmap1.0 Zoin will have strongest fundament for future success: own development amazing wallets for all platforms (Windows, Linux, Mac OS, Web wallet, Web TOR wallet, Mobile wallets for Android and IOS, Paper wallet), Zoinodes and other features!

I will quote a very smart quote from the discord:

larry:

“I think that’s one of the reasons I like Zoi team so much. They’re spending their time building a solid foundation first before hyping a coin with nothing behind it. Once you have a good coin with good wallet and functional private web wallet you can build from that foundation instead of trying to fill it in after you’ve hyped it.”
