Waltonchain’s Smart City application wins the ‘Outstanding Product Award’ at the Global Iot Summit.

Hello Waltonians. Recently Waltonchain took part in the Global IoT Summit in Shanghai. This was the first global IoT event to be held in this city. There were a lot of large domestic- and foreign business on the scene including industry leaders and large consortiums. Citylink Technology — a subsidiary of Silicon tasked with the Smart City implementation for Waltonchain — attended the summit. We are glad to inform you that we won.

The award

Citylink Technology won the ‘Outstanding Product Award’ for their Smart Waste Management System. This system makes use of Waltonchain’s RFID tags in conjunction with the Blockchain. This guarantees that all stored data is immutable, trustworthy, and easily accessed by all parties that are allowed to acces the data such as municipalities or regulatory bodies. Among the other award winners were international giants such as Huawei, Ericsson, China Telecom, Ofo, IFLYTEK, Fudan Microelectronics and more. It is an honor for us to be recognized alongside names like these and to have our blockchain + RFID solution recognized on a big stage! These award were issued by over 20 multinational IoT industry organizations and invited those that they considered to be of high commercial value.

The Technology

The development of the Smart Waste Management System is built on the combination of:

• and other information technologies.

Citylink Technology implemented these technologies into the older Waste Management System for it to be upgraded and guarantee increasing automation and efficiency. At a higher level the proposed system realizes the four modernizations of waste management:

• Precise waste level supervision
• Real-time disposal
• Full management mapping
• System integration

The technology includes independent patented technology such as sanitation smart watches for staff, smart trash cans, ultra-low power multi-channel detection devices and other advanced technology for all levels of environment waste management. Equipped with corresponding sensing equipment, intelligent terminals and systems, we are able to connect: people, things and data. This greatly enhances the management and operational efficiency of the waste industry.

Effects

The solution is able to effectively assist government departments to smoothly promote the commercialization and monetization of sanitation by creating big data and eliminating information silos. This allows energy and fuel savings, smart route optimization, sustainability compliance and less waste build-up. This leads to happy citizens! What this technology shows is that blockchain + RFID can have direct impact on better lives for citizens. Smart Waste Management systems are only a part of what Waltonchain’s technology can do.

The future

The smart retail solution (Phase 1.0) currently under development is only one aspect of Waltonchain. When considering the IoT smart waste management is not immediately thought of, but it is extremely important to all governments, particularly in developing countries.
