My opinion is wrong. That doesn’t sound much like the judgement of a rational adult.

Here’s my issue: what if she wanted to shave her head? Is that ok? In my opinion: yes. What if your son wanted to wear a dress? Is that ok? In my opinion: yes. If your daughter wants to remove her body hair, is that ok? In my opinion — yes. I’m a liberal with liberal views. Your views seem authoritarian and you seem to be projecting them on to your child in the name of ‘equality’ and ‘non-objectification’. What I don’t think you realise is that notion belongs to other people — not the one supposedly objectified. You can’t control what other people think — ever, but you can control how you feel about their perceived judgements (emphasis on ‘perceived’). Why not let her alter her appearance if she wants? I’m sure you (and she one day) wear make-up — surely the logical end to your view would be that no-one should do this either?
