While I agree that a moment of reflection can help see things in a clearer light and gives time to catch biases, I can’t help but think Daniel Kahneman might be just right and all that is happening in our optimism of the actual effect of awareness is yet another mental bias.

If it is so, I don’t mind, though.

I treasure the optimism bias. I believe it serves us real well. I much rather look at the bright side through the lens of a growth-mindset and retain that strong belief that we can become wiser as we go.
