Spotted: Jean Shafiroff Encourages Guest To Wear Blue & Learn About The Southampton Animal Shelter Foundation
Upper East Side power couple, Martin and Jean Shafiroff hosted a Beat the January blues party for the Southampton Animal Shelter Foundation (SASF) on Tuesday, January 23rd, 2018 at their Park Avenue home.
Over 100 guests including Southampton Animal Shelter Foundation Board President, Clifton Knight and SASF Executive Director Jerry Rosenthal, Matt Rich, Flo Anthony, Geoffrey Bradfield, Randi Schatz, and Victor de Souza, enjoyed champagne and vegan appetizers with the philanthropist and her financier husband.
Midway through the event, Jean Shafiroff thanked guests for attending and for their continued commitment to the Southampton Animal Shelter Foundation. Knight thanked Martin and Jean Shafiroff, stating, “Jean has been like a Joan of Arc for our Shelter. Without her support we would not be operating.” He then said that, “as a result of the training work, we are able to do our adoption rate is up to 98%. This is unsurpassed by any shelter on the East End. We take in all animals, no matter the condition — all the orphans and all the tough cases, and our adoption rate is through the roof.”
After an ensemble change from Jean’s vinyl blue two-piece outfit by Courrèges she traded that look for a gown designed by Caroline Elenowitz. Soon after the costume change a small cake in the dining room was spotted…was this just another cocktail party on the Upper East Side or was someone celebrating a birthday?
Either way, it was a fun evening celebrating and getting inspired. The annual gala will take place this summer in the Hamptons.
