Serverless is focused on functions, Up is focused on apps/apis/sites. The Lambda portion is simply an implementation detail in Up’s case. I personally believe FaaS is not the correct solution for building apis and apps (yet, maybe in the future, but that’s a blog post of its own).
Up’s reverse proxy is deployed inside of Lambda in front of your app to provide a bunch of reverse proxy features, whereas Serverless simply deploys stuff it has no role on what happens inside the functions.
