Thanks! Yeah to be honest for static sites there are plenty of great options already, I’m certainly focusing more on the app/api side of things. So far all of these are features of the reverse proxy:

  • gzip compression
  • cors
  • error pages
  • header injection
  • redirects and rewrites
  • some standardized structured logging stuff (will touch on this later)
  • forwarding requests to the HTTP server you create (no need to adapt frameworks to Lambda)
  • static file serving with HTTP cache support etc
