nº 145

Conceal the heaving magma,
keep it molten in hermetic chambers,
deep within the earthen belly.

Carry the keys in your mouth,
and set a guileful tongue
and feral teeth
and unflinching jaws
to guard them.

And in the secret
of the night and lonely places,
throw the doors wide,
embrace the blast,
feel the searing wind caress your face,
run fingers through your hair,
and whisper your name into your ear.
