Intermittent fasting has taken the health and fitness world by storm in recent years, and for good reason. This type of eating pattern has been shown to have numerous health benefits, including weight loss, improved insulin sensitivity, and a reduction in the risk of chronic diseases like heart disease and type 2 diabetes. But, as with any new diet or lifestyle change, it can be difficult to know where to start. That’s why I’m here to help!

First, let’s discuss what intermittent fasting is. Simply put, it’s a pattern of eating where you alternate periods of eating with periods of not eating. There are several different methods of intermittent fasting, but the most popular include the 16/8 method, where you fast for 16 hours and eat within an 8-hour window, and the 5:2 method, where you eat normally for 5 days and fast for 2 non-consecutive days.

One of the biggest benefits of intermittent fasting is weight loss. When we fast, our bodies are forced to burn stored fat for energy instead of relying on the food we’ve just consumed. This can lead to significant weight loss over time. Additionally, because intermittent fasting can improve insulin sensitivity, it can also help with weight loss and prevent obesity-related diseases.
