Hello! My name is T.L. Shreffler and I am the author of The Cat's Eye Chronicles, a swoonworthy YA Fantasy series full of adventure and an epic, slow-burn, enemies-to-lovers romance spread across 6 books. Whew! What a mouthful!
I was born and raised in Burbank, CA, and had the pleasure of growing up only a few blocks away from Warner Bros. and Disney studios. Encouraged by my parents, and inspired by a creative community of friends and neighbors, I've dedicated myself to creative goals since my teen years. Growing up in the 80's and 90's was an interesting time for Fantasy. My writing isn't just inspired by LOTR or D&D campaigns, but also comes from a lot of Japanese and Anime works like JRPG videogames (Final Fantasy, Legend of Dragoon, etc.), Naruto, Dragonball Z and One Piece.
The Cat's Eye Chronicles by T. L. Shreffler began as a webnovel on fictionpress.com back in 2002-2003, and over the last twenty years has grown into the series it is today. I graduated with a B.A. in Creative Writing in 2013 and hit the indie author wave just as it was beginning. I took a break from writing around 2018 after the release of Krait's Redemption to try working in other fields. For a time I contributed to the KRPG "AION" as a freelance Localization writer, which led to me becoming a Localization professional in the Entertainment industry for several years. I had the honor of being part of the Disney+ Program Launch back in 2019 as an End-2-End Title Manager (a big fancy word that boils down to project management.) In 2021, I stepped away from that career to focus once again on writing. When you really love something, it's hard to leave it behind. It takes a lot of work to write a novel, but I've learned by working in various industries that I am only happy when I'm waist-deep in my imagination, hashing out some fantastical story. On this blog, I talk a bit about writing, a bit about Localization, and a lot about everything that I love! You might find some articles gushing about my latest obsession with K-Dramas and Chinese cinema. Or you might get a "How To Plot A Novel in 30 Seconds." I started this blog to connect to readers and talk about all the things I like. So drop by, leave a comment and say hello! And don't forget to check out The Cat's Eye Chronicles by T. L. Shreffler if you like YA Fantasy.
