This simple sentence hit me like a freight train. There it is in black and white, not only the reason I haven’t seen a doctor in years, but the entire downward slide of being told by a professional that any issue I may have is because of my weight. I may have learned to shut out the haters over the years, but a doctor? Nope, that still causes shame.
