Satan Believes in the Power of Prayer

📚Satan well knows that all whom he can lead to neglect prayer and the searching of the Scriptures, will be overcome by his attacks. Pr 273.1

📚Satan holds many of you from prayer, by telling you that you do not feel your prayers, Pr 268.1

📚 Satan Trembles at the Sound of Prayer —If Satan sees that he is in danger of losing one soul, he will exert himself to the utmost to keep that one. Pr 270.1

📚At the sound of fervent prayer, Satan's whole host trembles. Pr 270.1

📚The name of Jesus, our Advocate, Satan detests; and when we earnestly come to Jesus for help, Satan's host is alarmed Pr 271.2

📚 Prayer Turns Aside Satan’s Attacks — Prayer brings Jesus to our side, and gives to the fainting, perplexed soul new strength to overcome the world, the flesh, and the devil.( Pr 269.3

📚Satan cannot endure to have Jesus appealed to, for he fears and trembles before His strength and majesty.

📚 Satan Dreads to Have Us Pray —There is a mighty power in prayer. Satan is constantly seeking to keep the troubled soul away from God. An appeal (prayer) to heaven by the humblest saint is more to be dreaded by Satan than the decrees of cabinets or the mandates of kings.—(The S.D.A. Bible Commentary 2:1008.) Pr 89.3

📚 Neglect of Prayer and Bible Study Makes Us Vulnerable to Temptation—Temptations often appear irresistible because, through the neglect of prayer and the study of the Bible, the tempted one can not readily remember God’s promises and meet Satan with the Scripture weapons. But angels are round about those who are willing to be taught in divine things; and in the time of great necessity, they will bring to their remembrance the very truths which are needed.—(The Great Controversy, 600.) Pr 89.2

📚Satan leads many to believe that prayer to God is useless and but a form. He well knows how needful are meditation and prayer to keep Christ's followers aroused to resist his cunning and deception. Pr 271.4

📚 During Public Prayers : Satan rejoices when the prayers offered to God are almost inaudible. Let God’s people learn how to speak and pray in a way that will properly represent the great truths they possess. Pr 272.1

📖 James 5:13,16-17
13. Is anyone among you suffering? He should keep on praying about it.

16. The earnest prayer of a righteous man has great power and wonderful results.

17. Elijah was as completely human as we are, and yet when he prayed earnestly that no rain would fall, none fell for the next three and a half years! 18. Then he prayed again, this time that it would rain, and down it poured, and the grass turned green and the gardens began to grow again.

📝 COMMENT
If the Devil believes in the power of prayer, then prayer is thee weapon for Christians. In this great controversy with the Devil our victory is in prayer. As revealed in the discourse, the Devil dreads us to pray. Prayer is a heaven-ordained way of combining our helplessness and weaknesses with God’s omnipotent power. We can also intercede for our fellow men.
