I love these!! I implemented the “backend meetings” strategy when I had 1:1 meetings with people who I knew would change the topic and then wrap up by going on extensively about their kite-surfing trip the last weekend, thus doubling the length of the meeting (and making it nearly impossible to leave). This was insanely effective at just giving me an excuse to leave.
HOWEVER, I never considered the idea that conversations could actually shorten or negate the entire purpose of the meeting up front. What a great idea!
