Alex Spider’s Mario & Sonic Food Battle Round 3 displays the 12 Principles of Animation in the whole video, as well as in the series. Two examples of these Principles are: Staging and Arc.
Staging in this animation is shown by many of the shots in the animation. An example is when, at 0:43, Mario is shown holding his plate of spaghetti, ready to fight. While he’s centered in the frame, his hand holding a his plate of spaghetti is on/around a thirds line as it moves up. Mario’s colors contrast with the background, so he pops out on the frame.
Arcs are weaved into the fabric of this animation. One of the plethora of examples is actually in the same shot: from 0:42–0:43, his hand moves upward in an arc bent toward the left of the frame.
