People Are Questioning Whether Hannah Baker Even Had A Mental Illness

The problem with the show is that a lot of the issues Hannah and her friends experience could be resolved by escalating to their parents and subsequently the police. This show is a great example of what happens when parents and children don’t communicate with each other properly. Of course it also highlights a failing support system in schools that need to do more to understand the realities students face, but on the whole it works.

Hannah was naive at the best of times, too easy to trust others when she had no need to be. She didn’t deserve what happened to her of course, but she ended up in bad situations entirely because she wasn’t street smart.
