If you are in your 30s like me, you may have noticed more jiggle in your wiggle. How do I get rid of this extra jiggle? Should I embrace it? Should I get rid of it? Or should it be a balance of both?
I am here to tell you that you should embrace your jiggle! Having a healthy jiggle is nothing to be ashamed of or frowned upon. Even the character of Arthur Spooner on the popular show, The King of Queens, is quoted for saying, “It’s called gravity, Douglas. And it’s coming for you!!”

When I had my first child, I had gained 55 pounds and was able to lose 35 pounds, but still held on to that extra 20 pounds. After having kids, it can become frustrating to figure out how to lose the weight you have gained. Besides pregnancy, age, stress, and other factors can come into play in gaining weight.
I came to the realization that my body will never look the way it did before having kids. It’s not realistic to think that my body will bounce back after having both of my kids in my 30s. Except for the bounce in my jiggle!
I decided to embrace my jiggle!! As long as I am healthy, this is most important.
And I am a firm believer that YOU should embrace it, TOO!! I believe THREE great ways can embrace your jiggle.
One of the best ways to embrace your jiggle is to stay active.
I am a firm believer that being active can come in lots of forms. I have been a gym rat since I was 19 years old. I love the challenge of pushing my body as hard as I can and feeling good afterwards. Yes, a woman like me embraces her jiggle by bench pressing 140 pounds!!
But, you don’t have to be a gym rat to stay active!!
Keep moving and do something fun that you like to do! Go for a hike, a bike ride, a swim, or run around the park with your kids, which can help you embrace your jiggle!!
One of my favorite ways to stay active is a kitchen dance party!! Crank up the music (preferably dance music) and dance around the kitchen while doing dishes, cleaning up, or dance with the kids. This is one of my favorite ways to embrace my jiggle!
Going for a walk is also great exercise. According to an article by the Mayo Clinic, regular walking can help you maintain a healthy weight, prevent or manage conditions like heart disease, diabetes, and high blood pressure; it can also strengthen your bones and muscle, improve your mood, and improve balance and coordination.

Another way to embrace your jiggle is to give yourself compliments.
Tell yourself ONE thing you like about yourself every day. Whether it is your sense of humor, your smile, your hair, your laugh, or something you are good at, giving yourself one compliment a day helps boost your sense of self-worth.
According to an article by licensed psychologist, Guy Winch, Ph.D., “Self-affirmations are specifically crafted messages we can give ourselves based on our true strengths.” He also explains that when self-esteem is low, every ounce of emotional nourishment helps.

Portion control can help you embrace your jiggle too!!
I love apple pie and chocolate cake. I would love to eat these foods every day, but I know that if I would, my jiggle would become so massive that it would shake the atmosphere!!
Most of us know that certain foods can cause weight gain, but they taste so good that it is difficult to avoid them! Foods like pizza, pasta, or desserts are some of the greatest foods made on this planet. When your metabolism slows down, it becomes harder to digest these foods and stay healthy.
I have tried dieting before. More than once. It can be difficult to cut out eating a particular food all together. Especially if you like pizza, pasta, and desserts like I do. But, I have found success with portion control and with tweaking my diet to keep my jiggle under control!
You can definitely experience the same success with portion control!!
According to an article by Environmental Nutrition, they list eight tips in helping with portion control. Some of their suggestions include paying attention to how you consume your food. They also discuss how serving your food on the counter top rather than on the table is less likely for someone to overeat. They also have an interesting suggestion of slicing up your food into smaller pieces to trick your brain into thinking you are eating more than what is actually on your plate.
Use smaller plates and cups. Eat your favorites, but try not to overindulge. Do not deprive yourself of the foods you love!

Now that you have the tips necessary to embrace your jiggle, what are you waiting for? Embrace it and live your life to the fullest and healthiest potential!
