I think that it is a little sad that it seems like everyone must assimilate to the popular culture in order to have a somewhat good experience in society. Sometimes it seems like the United States prides ourselves on having various cultures, but by having individuals assimilate into our society, we can’t claim that. I feel as though we should be a society that celebrates and values different cultures instead of requiring individuals to assimilate to our specific culture.
