I don't know what to say really, you are actually to ignorant to understand, i bet you believe that F-22 and B-2 Bombers are invincible to?

This is a pointless discussion with someone that do not understand the basic of Naval Warfare.

EVERYTHING under the surface can be detected, even the most silence Swedish, Japanese or Russian conventional Submarines, with MAD (Magnetic anomaly detector) on Helicopters and Planes you can detect minerals on the bottom floor, so rest assure they can detect a Submarine, they are made of metal, not Plastic… passive sonar detect an fish that humping, so they can detect a propeller blade…

And sufficient range? Torpedoes have short range and Helicopters and Air Planes have long range, so yes, they can detect them in sufficient time and coordinate strikes against them with surface ships.

And what have Russian subs got to do with this discussion if i may ask?

We are talking about a Russian ASW ship and western Submarines….

And “Mainstream knowledge” is really only people like you, naval personnel and experts say something different….Sure, they were not in par with western Submarines, but in no way “extremely noisy”
