My love affair with China

Nika gave me permission via wechat on 3/28/15 to write about meeting her. She was our airbnb guest in SF for about 9 nights with her little son, age two.

Blue umbrella to cross garden at nite in rain

Nika go to market buy big fish and steak

Brought Flour for her dumplings

Cooks Okra in our kitchen

Quince little green fruits loves them

Tea for us first morning

She sent me a Chat via Airbnb : I am in kitchen now!

Next day blender we took her to costco to buy: needs one in China!

She;union Square & Chinatown w baby rides red train toy in park

Next day roundabout academy of science fish

Our Cortland Ave Cleaners gave her box gummy bears for children individually packed

She bought red wine to drink w us

I told her drink our white wine we don’t drink

She gave us her little tea cups

Her tea maker she left us

Her two special teas

Her noodle making pot

Her book by Chinese girl who studied here in SF

She got me to meet her classmate who teaches class at high school in China

She is administrator of class

I will speak about the U.S.

Her husband computer company 20 employees

Now we have emails etc for Nika

Not her home address but the company’s

Left 8 dec 2014

SF hongkong 14 hrs

Bus then to Shenzhen 45 minutes

Gave her Estelle (my mother) little silver spoon fruit pattern

And

Antique dessert knife part of set we bought in Glasgow and

1/4 piece fabric red little boys pattern from Mandors in Glasgow

Miss her so
