Loved this article. I moved to the Bay Area in 1998. Lived in Palo Alto for two years and like you, I picked up and moved to Oakland… for one main reason. I have since lived all over the Bay and I’m happy to call this place my home. And like you, leaving tech was never on the table. But also like you, I’ve heard all types of silly mess in my 18 years in tech. Maybe I’ll write about it one day. Thanks for sharing so vulnerably and all the best.
