What will you have me do for the increasing number of nasty and awful stories in this publication
Joel Mwakasege

Three Things for byrslf.

  1. Expand the editorial team to include a diversity of voices/experiences.
  2. Follow an editorial process that requires more than one reader on each story.
  3. Don’t publish everything.

The first will catch all the MRA, trolls, and other lovelies who write sufficiently confusing, but disgusting, pieces which cannot be caught with a cursory glance of their work — especially if you are a solo male editor. This team approach is a first step in improving the quality and caring for sensitive stories.

The second will improve quality, if you do the third thing.

The third thing, well, it should be obvious why this is important.

Best of luck to you.
