HOLLOW

I’ve walked in fields of plenty,

Stood alone in lands laid waste

A man so tired and cold,

Feeling lost without a trace

I’ve wrestled with my demons,

Tougher than they seem

Their screams and illusions,

Terrorize beyond resistant means

I’ve fully vested my heart,

In life’s fruitless endeavors

Felt my soul grow cold,

For what seems like forever

I’ve been on my knees,

And I’ve been on my face

A man in need of mercy,

A man in need of amazing grace

Now all that’s left,

Is to lay me at your feet

This empty, hollow man,

Yours to do with as You please
