I walked along in silence,

The man behind the mask

Wishing someone knew me,

Loved me true at last

Fearful I trudged on,

In search of some way

To remove it forever,

ME, exposed to the day

The truth behind the lie,

Became plain to see

I put me in this mask,

Afraid to just be me

Now the mask is gone,

The captive’s been set free

I hope the others love me,

Now that I am me

I hope the others love me,

Now that I, am me
