Loading Images in iOS Without Dependencies

Real apps need image loading in UITableView and UICollectionView cells that get re-used. They need to cancel downloads while scrolling, preload images, post process images, retry failed image loads, apply transition effects, etc.

It’s tempting to start simple like this with your own code but as your app grows you’ll be spending your time writing an image loading library instead of building features and that’s a bad use of developer time.

The correct answer is: “Use AlamofireImage, Duh.
