Be grateful. Be you.
Sitting here in traffic gives me so much time to think and reflect on me.
The thought came to my mind, a simple word, the word grateful.
There are so many things I am grateful for. Obviously, my family, my friends, my life.
But I need to be grateful for new things. Every time I hear “I am grateful for…” I hear all of the same things that I think and say.
So, what is something new I am grateful for?
I am grateful that the depression I have doesn’t consume me.
I am grateful that I purged the thought of self harm out of my life years ago.
I am grateful that I can be open to people I meet so they can get to know the real me and not some robot version of me.
I’m grateful for all the memories I have, especially those moments when a char rushed memory randomly pops in my mind.
I am grateful for the chances I get to just sit and look up at the sky and let all my feelings out to someone who will always listen.
Obviously I do have more but these are just some of what makes me me.
The things that you are grateful for truly make you who you are. Be grateful. Be you.
