Great article, Caitlin. Our media isn’t about holding truth to power or creating the change we desperately need. It’s about selling products and services. The role of the Democratic Party in our Plutocracy is preventing grass roots uprisings against the establishment. Period.

It’s not about winning. It’s about obstruction. The problem is while the establishment blocks progress on the left, they are losing against the radical right — the extremely well funded Fascist front.

George Monbiot wrote a good article in The Guardian about Nancy MacLean’s new book outlining the historically deep network built by the Koch’s. (https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2017/jul/19/despot-disguise-democracy-james-mcgill-buchanan-totalitarian-capitalism)

Meanwhile, there are NO signs at all the Democratic Party is willing or able to take on this fascist push. None.

In fact, Bernie Sanders isn’t even equipped at this moment because he’s just a New Dealer which is still part of our capitalistic regime.

Because of the depth of propaganda flushed at voters/Americans by the Koch’s elaborate network, Americans won’t get a clue until it’s too late.

The analogy of the Rise of the Third Reich is amazing. Years after, historians and people across the globe asked the glaring question, “Why did the German people allow these atrocities to happen?”
