Samsung’s flagships are popular worldwide because they are easily available, and there is no doubt that they are the best smartphones in many places. We expect more of the same from the Galaxy S24 series, as Samsung continues to make its already excellent flagships even better. Despite keeping the 200MP rear camera, the Galaxy S24 Ultra could get a small upgrade.

Rumors suggest the Galaxy S24 Ultra may use an updated 200MP sensor called the ISOCELL HP2SX. This sensor seems similar to the HP2 sensor in the Galaxy S23 Ultra but may have small improvements.

The HP2 sensor takes great photos. Daytime pictures have lots of detail, even when pixels are combined (“binned”). The colors look natural too. Low light and night photos turn out well for a phone. Videos are also good quality.

If the HP2SX sensor is based on the HP2, we can hope it will perform even better. Small changes could make a difference. The newest Qualcomm processor in the S24 Ultra may also help improve photos.

While the camera won’t be drastically different than the S23 Ultra, Samsung may optimize it a little more. Other rumors say the S24 Ultra will keep its large 6.78-inch screen but with a brighter maximum brightness. It may have 12GB or 16GB of fast RAM and storage options up to 2TB. The design will likely stay premium with an IP68 rating and a big battery too.

We have a few months until Samsung makes the Galaxy S24 Ultra official. Stay tuned for more camera and phone details as their release gets closer!
