The Weekly Burst Report is a report published every Sunday meant to centralize and outline the important Burst information of the week.

Last week’s report was cancelled. Therefore, this edition presents the most important news of the last two weeks. Thank you for your understanding.

Development

• Please, update your wallet. Many still haven’t, and because of that the outdated nodes are being used to help spam the network. No worries — everything will work itself out, but always keep in mind this is a consensus network and it is only as strong as its weakest parts — which would be the oldest wallets. Updates are there to help the network.
• BRS 2.2.5 “Mitigator” is out. Qbundle knows about it and offers the one-click upgrade. Everyone needs to update!
• An important announcement is coming before December, as announced by the PoC Consortium in a Reddit post: “By the end of this month we will inform you about a clandestine project of the PoCC (and friends). Is it big? You bet.” The PoCC gave a second hint away this week:

• Please welcome PoCCBot, the PoC Consortium’s tipping bot for Reddit! PoCCBot is a great way to show appreciation towards a valuable post by donating a few BURST to its author. “The bot is still in the testing phase, but should be fully operational soon. It also looks like sending tips is not the only task that will be performed by this bot in the future…”, according to PoC Consortium developer rico666.
• You need to get listed to be able to receive tips.
• You need to fund your tip account to be able to tip.

• Version 0.2.3 of the Android wallet has been released. It now supports fee suggestions, and Russian & Serbian language.

Other

• In an effort to further decentralize the pool ecosystem, the PoCC is raising its pools’ fees to 1.5%, starting from december 1st.
• Daniel Jones and Tamara Sanchez interviewed Zeki Gunay, CEO of Cratus Technologies, regarding the use of the Burst Blockchain, his visions and use cases in the Supply Chain and Chain of Custody Transactions. They discussed the different industries which may benefit from the immutability of the Blockchain.

• BURST doesn’t have 80 transactions per second — it has much more.
• The Global Sticker Campaign has started! Most Burst stickers have been sent and received already. If you are from the USA or Germany and you have not received your stickers yet, they should arrive soon — no worries.

• Tamara Sanchez created a crowdfund for the California camp fire victims. You can contribute by sending BURST to this address.
• Scavanger for Android user guide(s).
• An interesting public debate within the community about what could improve the Burst marketplace. You can still participate here.
• “VHS versus Betamax” — a Reddit post by PoCC developer rico666 that will get you pumped for the future of Burst.

Conclusion

Burst is yet again unmoved by a spam attack on its network, which goes to show how resistant it has become to this kind of threats. A major announcement is coming before the end of the month. Burst is stronger, its dev team more dedicated, and its future brighter than ever.
