Sixers couldn’t trade him, it’s that simple. No team really wanted the underperforming 3rd overall selection. So instead of giving him up for nothing, they keep him. And by keeping him they are saying, we are not ready to give up on him. He’s young, he can learn, he can adjust and he can adapt. We will give him a fair shake. Then if he doesn’t improve,… we cut him lose, but at least we tried.
