Google Chrome’s new tab page is probably the most visited place in your browser, ahead of any website. Many people also have it set as their Chrome home page. That’s why changes to this important part of the browser aren’t made lightly, and Google is careful not to change the formula too much. The biggest change to Page on Android was probably the introduction of the Discover feed, which added personalized news recommendations for you. Now, Google is experimenting with another addition: Quick access to recent searches.

In recent days, Google has been seen activating shortcuts to recent search queries on the new tab page that have appeared for some of our contributors and tipsters. They live in your most visited site collection just below the new tab search bar, replacing some of those shortcuts in the process. However, search queries can often be much longer than site titles and don’t have intuitive icons that can help you identify what they are; there’s just one generic magnifying glass for all of them. In some cases, this makes it nearly impossible to tell what you’re looking for when you tap the shortcuts unless you remember what you wrote a day or two ago.

HOW TO CHANGE YOUR HOMEPAGE AND NEW TAB PAGE IN CHROME

Google Chrome is one of the most popular web browsers in the world. It is known for its speed, security and simplicity. However, if you’re like most people, you’re probably not thrilled with the default home page and new tab page that comes with Chrome. Fortunately, changing the home page and new tab page in Chrome is easy. In this article, I will show you how to do it in a few simple steps.

Step 1: Open Google Chrome

The first step is to open Chrome. Click the three dots in the upper right corner of the browser window, and then click Settings.

Step 2: Select Appearance

Once you’re in the Settings menu, scroll down to the Appearance section. You’ll see a few different options here, including Themes, Display, and Customize Fonts. It is the Customize Fonts option where you will find the settings to change your home page and new tab page.

Step 3: Change your home page

Click on the Customize Fonts option. Here, you’ll see a few different options, including the ability to change your home page. To do this, click on the “Home Page” option and you will be taken to a screen where you can enter the URL of your new home page.

Step 4: Change Your New Tab Page

To change your new tab page, go back to the Customize Fonts option and click on the “New Tab Page” option. Here you will have a few different options. You can choose to have a blank page, or you can choose to have your most visited sites or a custom URL.

Step 5: Save your changes

Once you have made your changes, click the “Save” button in the bottom right corner of the screen. Your new home page and new tab page should now be set.

Open link in a new tab
It’s often helpful to have websites open in multiple tabs while you’re using the web so you can read multiple websites, compare information, or attend to an urgent matter in one tab, and then get back to work in another. All modern browsers support multiple tabs, and when you open Google Chrome, it will remember which sites you opened in a previous session (if you’ve opted to “click to remember where you left off” in Settings) and reopen those tabs.

In general, you can hold down the control button, or the command key on a Mac computer, to open a link in a new tab. You can also click on a link and hold the mouse down without releasing, dragging the link to the browser tab bar to open it in a new tab.

If you prefer, you can also right-click a link in Chrome or many other browsers to bring up a menu that allows for a variety of options. Your options include opening the link in a new tab, opening it together in a new window, and opening it in an “incognito window,” where it will largely not be linked to your other browsing and your history won’t be saved for good. Of privacy .

If you’re using Chrome on a mobile or other touchscreen device, touch and hold the link to bring up this menu.

If you want to open a new tab without opening a website, you can click the “new tab” button in your browser’s tab bar, go to the “File” menu and click “New Tab” or type the letter “ t” while holding down the Control key. On a Mac, use the Command key instead.

Most other browsers support similar commands and options.
