5 Awesome Things You Can Do for Veterans Day!
Ok, as we should know in America, Veterans Day is a federal holiday for honoring all of our brave and protecting veterans who risked their lives to fight for the American citizens against threats and malicious activities brought upon us by our enemy countries.
Basically, what we want to do as civilians is to give our respect and attention to those who have served in the United States Navy, Army, Marines, Air Force and the Coast Guards. Most of us can give two poops about our veterans, they’re just excited to get off from work and enjoy a three day weekend — shame on you!
Veterans Day is on November 11, 2019. If you want to be awesome this Veterans Day, you will have to take awesome action. It’s enough to say happy veterans day, but anyone can do that and that really doesn’t make you amazing. I’m not sure just saying happy veterans day will get enough of your spirit involved to be awesome, so I have you covered with these 5 things!

- Attend a Veterans Day Parade
You do not necessarily have to attend the largest United States Veterans parade, “The New York City Veterans Day Parade”, but you can certainly join one that is closer to your residence. This has been a tradition since the first Veterans Day parade in 1919, in New York. A fun way to say thank you to all of the veterans.
2. Rent Out a Space and Invite Veterans
Doing something as simple as inviting 10–20 veterans to a rented space in your area to watch a patriotic movie can go a long way. Pinning up flyers in a grocery store, at a gym or even in an apartment complex entailing that there will be snacks, drinks and food available can definitely put a smile on a veteran’s face. 3. Visit Veterans at a Hospital
If the veteran of choice isn’t a relative, first check with the VA hospital of choice for all rules and regulations associated with visiting veterans that are not related to you. Take the veterans a card, some balloons, homemade food and ask them about their history. Keep good company and show your interest. They will definitely appreciate that and probably wouldn’t want you to leave.
4. Cover the Tabs for Multiple Vets
Go to your local cafe and notice those vets that are wearing veteran hats. When it’s time for them to cover their check, don’t let them. Stand in the way, and suggest to them that you will cover the bill. Thank them for their service and watch how great you’ll make them feel.
5. Volunteer
Probably everyone’s first thought when it comes to being awesome on veterans day, volunteering at a homeless shelter. There are plenty of veterans who are homeless and what better way to lend your support on veterans day then to serve them food and put a smile on their faces.
