Words speak louder than wishes
A lesson in taking action.
At the start of 2013, I was on an incredible non-fiction reading binge.
I read for a solid five hours every night, switching books after every hour or long chapter. iBooks meant I could highlight every fact, and the resulting notes page meant I could re-read the entire book in a fraction of the time.
Never before had I learnt so much. And never before had I so much to share.
But an ambition to collect these ideas on a blog, which would share one short takeaway per post, was pinned back by excuses that the site would have to be carefully designed and duly polished. That sort of thing is great if you have a designer or developer to hand. I’m just a writer.
The answer was staring me in the face: there’s plenty of premium content platforms like Svbtle and Medium out there. I’m tempted to build a dream custom site on Ghost, but there’s no point waiting. One of these platforms will do.
If there’s one lesson for my first post, it’s that actions speak louder than words. And, if need be, words speak louder than wishes.
