Contributing to the research and development of antidote of the CoV-19
As the pandemic becomes influential and global reported cases increase day by day, several regions have implemented lockdown or restriction on outdoor activities to prevent further expansion. Since the antidote to countermeasure this pathogen threat has not been discovered yet, the recovery will most likely to be self-reliant.
The fundamental explanation lies in the unsuccessful attempts to develop the antidote of the COVID-19.
Affected by the pandemic, world economy and industries are encountering a difficult situation. In the midst of economic difficulty, US stock market initiated four consecutive trading curbs (since 1997), and after Federal Reserve Bank announced unlimited quantitative easing, the stock market boomed where DJI record 2112 points (new high since 1987).
In such stable yet turbulent situation, there are some growing industries
Essentially chance emerges out in the crisis.

Internet Industry draws the most attention in the current COVID-19 impact. The demand for internet service has grown due to the influence of quarantine and telework. Network efficiency and video distribution services has received increasing attention in some regions and cities.
This can be viewed in stock price of Amazon and number of users registered in Netflix.
The demand for internet services is predicted to grow on even after the cessation of COVID-19.
Especially, services that support data transference and infrastructure building will increase exponentially. The solution that Poseidon Network advocates is “building an internet resource sharing platform”
Internet fee for most people is a fixed cost. People go out in the morning and sleep in the night; and consequently, there are specific time periods when internet resources are idle. Users can share those recourses through Poseidon Network in exchange with benefit.
This project, Poseidon Network, has cultivated for more than a year. Token price rose from initial 0.002 USDT to 0.025 USDT (2020/4/10) , achieving 12 times higher growth, reputed as one of the few projects that maintained high yield in the market in recent year.

Applied Examples of Distributed Computing:
· Introduction on Distributed Project — Folding @ Home
The distributed computing project specializing in disease mainly simulate protein folding, computational drug design, and other molecular dynamics. It targets cancer, infectious diseases, and neurological diseases such as Parkinson’s disease.
· Then, “why do we need to simulate the protein folding”
Because proteins are molecular machines that perform many functions related to life: they can not only sense taste and smell but also perform muscle contraction or food digestion, and other structural roles. In many cases, protein will fold spontaneously into a compact functional structure. (virus itself is formed by specific protein structure)
Therefore, 「to combat viruses, it is necessary to understand the way of viral proteins through “program simulation”, and then design a therapy to prevent them」
But such simulation requires powerful computing resources. It cannot be processed by a centralized server, and the cost becomes very high as well
· So “what can be achieved through the contribution of idle resource?”
— By contributing idle resource, simulate protein dynamics can be achieved with enormous computation.
Currently, many experiments are to determine the structure of proteins, but they only uncover the common appearance of proteins. Folding @ Home’s expertise is to use computer simulation to understand the movement of molecules in proteins to complement the existing insufficient experimental methods.
Therefore, Poseidon Network’s “distributed computing” and “distributed nodes” will not only have one or two applied scenarios (VPN, CDN) but also can participate in any international “distributed computing project”

Maybe some people know Poseidon Network is providing VPN and CDN services but actually these are only few applied examples of the “infrastructures of edge computing”
If the contributed network and nodes are established, we still have no idea how the applicable scenarios would look like after five years or ten years
However, we are quite sure that the demand of “distributed computing” has always been around us, and there will be always scenarios to apply.
It is clear that Poseidon Network is not only limited to VPN or CDN services.
There is a strong demand for distributed computing in the world. Poseidon will be the supplier of these applied scenarios by using the node network that it created .
