As ye sow, so shall ye reap. Having turned sex into a regulated public utility hedged around with all kinds of bizarre rules and regulations, progressives can hardly complain when one of their own gets taken down. Besides that, there’s the undeniable fact that Ms. Hill displayed a level of stupidity and arrogance unusual even for a member of Congress. How could she possibly have thought that it was OK to have a sexual relationship — one involving her husband!—with a young campaign worker? Is this not the kind of abusive relationship that feminists have been decrying for decades? Does it make any difference that Hill’s a woman? Well, it shouldn’t but apparently in the minds of some people it does.

Then there’s the matter of those photos. Now, if they’d been taken secretly without Hill’s knowledge or consent that would be one thing. But she, a candidate for Congress, posed for them. Think about the bad judgement, indeed the recklessness, on display there. And finally, there’s the probability that after entering Congress Hill also had an affair with one of her staffers: a clear ethics violation which was under investigation. Yes, I know, she denies it, but who really believes her? Do you? Honestly?

In the current atmosphere of sexual paranoia, denunciations, persecutions, etc. Hill made herself a political liability and that’s why the House Democratic leadership did nothing to help her.

Yes, you should be angry. At Katie Hill. Who betrayed your trust.
