How I feel most days…

I’ve Never Been Good at Keeping Lists

Day 15…

Fail. Again.

Task 15: Find 30 more tasks that can be accomplished (or failed) in an hour or less

So I can’t even come up with a list. How pathetic. What’s next, I forget how to brush my teeth? Putting each shoe on the correct foot is a struggle? Thank God we’ll soon have self-driving cars. I’m not sure I can be trusted to make it to the bank and back. But honestly, it is surprisingly difficult to think of something challenging to do every single day, especially when time constraints are involved. If I had all day every day to do this, then that would be an entirely different story. Alas, I can’t think of anyone I know who would be willing to pay me for this little endeavor so I just have to work with what I’ve got.

I managed to think of 16 so that, at least, gives me 8 weeks of Tuesdays and Thursdays (my busy days), but I need some other source. I thought about doing an internet search — there has to be something out there for “daily challenges” — but that seems a little like cheating. Not to mention things like that on the internet are usually all kinds of cheesy. Either that or they’re so vague and conceptual there’s no real way to immediately measure their outcome. That’s definitely been a problem; I think of all kinds of fun things I’d like to try but any real measure of success or failure would take at least several days, if not weeks or more.

There are also several that require assistance of some sort from other people. For example, I don’t really want to climb Mt. Tam by myself. I’m perfectly capable but that seems like it would be fun to do with someone. Or there’s learning to play a song on the guitar. Yes, I could just find it on YouTube but since I don’t own a guitar it seems logical to have the person from whom I borrow the guitar teach me (Blair and Bix, you’re up!). I know, it sounds like I’m making excuses. I’m really not; at least, not intentionally. That’s why I’ve had to reorganize the list and make absolutely sure I add a task every time I cross one off!

Today’s task may also seem like a bit of a cheat but, hey, sometimes two birds need to die and you just have the one bloody stone. I can’t really say more about it just yet; it’s already done. But I can say that as quick and multi-functional as it may have been, it

One clap, two clap, three clap, forty?
