THE LONDON BOY FICTION

I know of a London boy who had the chance to stay in Nigeria before COVID became rampant in it. He made the decision to still travel.

“ Tomiwa na London I wan go do my own isolation, I don’t want to be locked up here with my family wey I no go fit watch porn LOL besides bro na cruise to catch," he said

I laughed out loud and replied " Guy you better stay at home where you might still be able to move freely amidst lockdown and whatever you cant do your money does for you. No matter where you travel to sha we go still jam for the same place- Online." discouraging this nigga but e be like say he sha wan go out- foreign Isolation style I thought.

" Tommy you better don’t dull or you too broke to buy tickets? You’ll keep writing and we go dey play online multiplayer everyday oo"

"It’ll cost like 2k dollars to survive for like 2-3 weeks and you won’t be able to go out once they start lockdown," I said.

"Oh bro I can borrow you enough for you to return it till you get paid or mumsy sends money. you know my father is richer than your father nigga"

At the time of the travel international airports around the world had already started putting in place measures of preventing the virus because in London they were already like 9 COVID patients and when he got to the airport my guy’s temperature was too high, too much ginger I would have guessed.

"Test and try again" "and again," they said they couldn’t waive it. He had to be admitted, hmm from pot to frying pan or so he thought. You can’t remember an adage when you are about to be admitted for the world’s deadliest virus. He was worried at first because he didn’t want anyone to know at home due to the stigma families of COVID patients faced and he was old enough.

Hysterically this fool would have thought "I’m a Nigerian jare Sebi within 2-3 days symptoms won’t persist, e go be like using paracetamol and here con be Yankee- superb paracetamol- we go dey alright" oh you don’t say, my friend? because he was actually very funny.

"Black man Power!!!" he would have reaffirmed.

My friend went through all the COVID 19 symptoms and eventually died with no one knowing except for the good doctors and nurses of Heathrow medical and I.

Yes I took him up on his offer afterall his father was richer than mine. We went to London together.
