An insightful article, as always from Elysium. One minor quibble: there are no 9,000 year old spruce clones. That common belief is based on very flawed science. The tree in question is about 80 years old! There are 80,000 year old aspen clones and 5,000+ year old pines. It’s a relevant subject, because trees have obviously figured out the secrets of longevity. http://www.venerabletrees.org/how-old-is-old-tjikko/.
