This strange self-censorship is happening throughout UK universities at the moment. Institutions such as Oxford and Cambridge are now banning speakers from attending their various campuses because of views that are not politically correct. I think there is a real danger being posed here, by silencing groups or individuals with contrary views you give yourself no opportunity to debate and defeat them. Liberalism thrives when conflicting with other ideologies, and stand-up comedy has deep roots in Liberal activism as it can often highlight prejudice and the ludicrous way it makes people behave, censoring our comics is just another step in killing the debate.
