We should have been on Russia’s side in Syria all along. They are the only outside force helping to keep a secular (though admittedly imperfect) government in place and prevent the country from becoming the next Islamic state. We have been funneling money and weapons to ISIS through the CIA to try to topple Assad, I assume in order to create a need for an even greater, long term military presence over there. It’s a business model. That said, of course, focusing on one ideological side over the other is rather falling for the corporate establishment’s game since they do maintain both sides for the purpose of argument as distraction.
