Italian Serial Entrepreneur Tommaso Chiabra is making a conscious and compelling case for the adoption of flexitarian diets to salve the grave dangers faced by our planet from meat industry pollution.

Chiabra- who was an early stage investor behind the 2008 mega IP of Beyond Meat, cites that the meat industry today accounts for 18% of global greenhouse gas emissions.

In order to make a dent in curbing pollution, a serious change is needed, one that can only be possible through macro shifts of consumption towards food manufacturing practices less reliant on meat.

To propel this movement, Chiabra’s group is now launching a retail chain of plant based burger shops across London called Neat Burger.

Labeled the Shake Shack of the plant-based community, Neat Burger sets out to disrupt the burger joint model by offering familiar favorites to consumers all made from alternative, plant based ingredients.

Further, the company has an edifying mission to help enlighten consumers on the positive consumption choices they’re making when they decide to eat plant based instead of traditional.

Just like Facebook paved the way for better connectivity and google for the democratic access to information, Chiabra states that “flexitarian dietary establishments can solve the problem to sustainable nutrition on a global scale.”

According to Chiabra, the success of Beyond Meat has already proven the concept. The product must now be fully accessible to customers everywhere so that the flexitarian movement can go mainstream and reach its potential of curbing global greenhouse emissions.
