Venom Incentivised Testnet Summary

To continue in my Testnet series of reviews and updates on leading and selected blockchain projects in development, today; we will take a quick look at a rare gem 💎 layer 0 project under development.

Let’s dive into Venom Network Incentivized Public Testnet together. Shall we?

Venom blockchain announced a public incentivized testnet on the 24th of April, 2023. One month down the line, huge milestones have been recorded while the testnet wages on, and its about to expand even bigger.

In a recent medium article, the Venom Foundation announced recorded achievements in the previous month and offered insights into the expected future plans and development focus for the Layer 0 blockchain. If you have not joined what arguably is the largest incentivized blockchain testnet yet, now might be the time to do so. At least, we expect that the testnet will wage on, till the end of June 2023, before new updates and status of the project in terms of Mainnet launching may come. Again, no date or announcement has been made regarding the end of the testnet and / or mainnet launch.

You should treat all testnet campaigns as standard on-chain practices where new projects are opened up to the public for stress testing (b£ta testing) to uncover bugs, collect user experience, feedback, then optimised and streamline such platform based on the collected feedback before official launching. Some testnets may reward users with financial incentives in the form of token airdrops . Some may not, although they do count towards overall community reward and incentives opportunities such as the latest Sui ICO where early adopters had the opportunity to take part in the cheapest round of the SUI token sale across multiple CExs. The Venom Testnet incentivizes testers with Early Adopter NFTs for their early participation and interactions with the protocol and its ecosystem projects. You may or may not receive real VENOM tokens as rewards. However, in my personal review of this project, the Venture Capital and mother organisation managing all operations of the blockchain development — The Venom Foundation recently launched a $1 Billion Dollar Ecosystem and Blockchain Development Fund. This program has participants from multiple and leading crypto and web3 brands. It has also recently announced the Venom Contributor Program for at least 1K blockchain enthusiasts in the community. These are indicators that early adopters of the project will have a rewarding blockchain expedition on the Venom project.

Summarized Testnet Guidelines

• Visit the testnet website 》https://venom.network/
• Select your preferred device OS (iOS, Android, or Chrome) for mobile and desktops, respectively. Install the wallet app, create a new wallet, backup your seedphrase, save your login password.
• Return to the testnet website (venom.network) and click 《Start Testnet》to get your Testnet VENOM tokens
• Test dapps and earn NFTs. This will involve engaging social finance and set of specific on-chain protocol activities to experience the protocol features, unlock NFT rewards, and submit feedback on observed or encountered bugs and features abnormalities in the Venom testnet.
• Mint your NFTs after each dapp testing is complete. Submit a screenshot of your NFT achievements along with the related wallet address¹, your testnet experience report², and protocol suggestions³ to the team on the #Completed-tasks¹ 》#feedback² 》#suggestion³ channels in the Venom discord community.

Active DApps for Testing

On the active testnet Web page, active dapps available for public testing are displayed. When you access this site, after installing the wallet, you will have these dapps available for your action in a sequential order. However, you can jump to any available one by navigating to the specific dapp page from the Venom testnet main page https://venom.network/tasks

The following ecosystem dapps are currently active for public testing.

1. Venom wallet: A non custodial wallet with built-in multisig accounts option and a support for ledger hardware. The Venom wallet currently supports transactions on Venom testnet blockchain only with no capability for metamask. This is because it is designed for the dapps and smart contracts built on the Threaded Virtual Machine TVM architecture. Support for metamask and other Ethereum Virtual Machine evm capable wallets will follow later as it has the potential of expanding the network across all leading blockchain frontiers.
2. Venom Scan: A Venom blockchain focused Explorer for on-chain data search, query, and scanning of the immutable Venom blockchain records. Track active blocks, network data like health status, block hashes, transaction per second tps, and wallet activities such as transfers, deposits, token minting, USD value worth, etc, using this tool.
3. Web3.world: This is the first DEx on Venom that enables a seamless, non custodial and p2p trading and liquidity aggregation from a pool of enthusiastic investors. Use this tool for your deposit, liquidity farming, and track your rewards in each liquidity pool.

8. Snipa: Perhaps one of my favourite dapps so far after the seamless bridge on the growing ecosystem suits of Venom projects. Snipa is a portfolio tracker like non other design for defi users to manage their assets and accounts across all defi protocols and active dapps or liquidity pools where such wallet is actively holding assets. Simply connect, and it does the magic and displays your portfolios across all dapps on its radar. This is one tool that will tip this project higher up the radar of blockchain Tooling protocols.

Other projects include;

• Venom Pools — A validator validation and delegation protocol for VENOM staked in validators nodes.
• WeUp — A decentralised trading protocol with low latency and ultra fast and reliability trading mechanisms for the savvy defi traders.
• OKY.Chat — This is as its name implies — a p2p blockchain powered messenger on the off-chain layer of Venom yet with the capability to support value transfer. We are going to see some unthinkable developments in reality soon!
• Numi — Numi description says it is aiming to be a universal platform for content creators with support for metaverse experience. Web3 projects building for AR, VR gamefication support will leverage Numi to enter into the Venom ecosystem. In the latest announcement released by the team, this is one of its focus at the moment going forward.
• Amon — Web3 emailing at its best with built-in privacy and self control capability. Do you remember ENS on Ethereum? This is going to be the Venom Naming Service (VNS) of Venom blockchain but with some extra capability — emailing services.
• Ylide — wallet to wallet (w2w) communication payment system yet to be ready for public interactions.
• Venomize — A Venom blockchain design template for token creation, vesting, airdropping, and management for new projects. It will help developers getting into the platform to speed up their building time and reduce cost while maintaining efficiency, compatibility, and consistency with the TVM architectural design.
