Good point! Thanks for pointing it out. Yes schoo is not “open” and thus it is not what we mean by open education. But here in Japan very few people know the word “open education”, and that made us feel it was not the time to talk about license. So rather than focusing on license in open and limiting the number of project to introduce, I chose to loosely-define it and tried to show multiple projects that really seek to pave the way. However as you note, I feel now I have to write more about license in open education (and I do in Japanese). This post was originally written and posts about 2 years ago, and as the situation changed in Japan and people gradually became to be aware of more open education projects and what it means, I think this post needs to be updated ;)
