Besides the ones I note in the article (All the Light We Cannot See, The Godfather, Gone Girl, The Martian, etc) here are a few more that I did not hate:
To Kill a Mockingbird, Presumed Innocent, The Hunt for Red October, and Calico Joe. The first Jack Reacher was pretty good. Robinson Crusoe was better than I expected. As was the first Harry Potter, which I read, fully expecting to hate, but did not. She might just find an audience. ;)
