Score draw at Deepale

Honours were even at Deepdale as Preston North End snatched a late equaliser against Ipswich Town.

Another stunner from Tom Lawrence put the Tractor Boys into the lead only for Jordan Hugill’s volley in the last minutes to cancel it out.

Lawrence made it six in six when he cut in from the left hand side and flashed his effort across Chris Maxwell and into the top corner.

Hugill’s chest and volley from a deep cross on the right was powered past travelling Town keeper Bartosz Bialkowski and saw North End get their share of the spoils.

Preston struggled to create in the first half and were mostly limited to long range efforts. Their best chance came from an Aiden Mcgeady cross that Jordan Hugill met with his head but couldn’t keep his header down.

The second half saw Ipswich looking to hold onto their lead as the Lilywhites pushed forward in search of the equaliser that they eventually got, and deserved.

The draw sees Preston into 10th and Ipswich 14th, the play-offs still very much an ambition for North End.
