Marquette Lacrosse has final chance at Big East Tournament

It has been an up and down season to say the least for the Marquette mens lacrosse team. They have had arguably one of the toughest schedules in the country having to play perennial powers Duke, Norte Dame, Denver and Ohio State, just to name a few. they have also lost some very close games. A overtime loss to Villanova, and a one goal loss to Notre Dame. Regardless, none of the regular season will matter as long as they can with their final two games

The toughest part is going to be beating the Denver Pioneers this Thursday at Providence College. The golden Eagles were able to pull off the upset against them last year, so trying to repeat that will be extremely difficult for Marquette, especially after just having lost to them this past Saturday. However if Marquette is able to pull of this upset once again, then they will have a very realistic chance to make the NCAA tournament. They would play the winner of the Villanova-Providence game. Two teams who have already beat Marquette this year, however both games were close going into the 4th quarter.

Marquette knows what it has to do in order to extend there season into the forceable future, and its nothing that they haven’t accomplished before. Make sure to tune into the game this Thursday as they boys look to make history again on CBSSports Network
