Great post. Agree that R in PowerBI opens up a world of data possiblibilites. Want to note PowerBI connectors to SQL and NoSQL data sources — while not mature like R — are still pretty darn good.

Most PowerBI connectors are fantastic. There hasn’t yet been an external XML/JSON/OData API that I wasn’t able to connect to in PowerBI.

I’d also drop the mic on that R date package. It’s seems work a lot like the moment.js library I love when developing visualizations on the web.
